Recent Event: Book Exhibition
World Book Day is celebrated every year by UNESCO on 23rd April. It is also known as “International Day of Book”. The day is memorable because of William Shakespeare’s date of Birth and also for his day of Demise. UNESCO selected the day to respect and to pay homage to the World’s renowned author William Shakespeare.
23rd April is the symbolic day of World Literature and significant to show respect to authors, book sellers/vendors and publishers worldwide.
On this occasion, Women’s College, Calcutta arranged a book exhibition for two days i.e. 22nd April and 23rd April, 2022 with collaboration of IQAC and library Committee of Women’s College, Calcutta. After, two days of Exhibition, we collect feedback from attendees. We on behalf of the Library Committee thanked all of them for us wholeheartedly.

Library
Women’s College,Calcutta Library pays homage to the rich heritage of its locality i.e. well known Baghbazar and acts as the knowledge hub of the entire institute. It has a comprehensive high quality of information resources in the field of Humanities. It was founded on 1937 at 204, Cornwallis Street,Kolkata-6.After few years it was shifted in present address,P 29,Kshirode Vidyavinode Avenue,Kolkata-3. Library is located in the 1 st floor of main building of College. Besides this Library every departments of College maintain Departmental Seminar Library headed by faculties of concerned subjects. Total carpet area of the Central Library is 138 sq.mt.
